Club 54, the nightclub on Harvester Road, is in its final season after 35 years, the club says. Owner Gene Quondamatteo is retiring and plans to sell the property.

For local musicians, the goodbyes have started. Hemispheres Music Studio said in an Instagram post that its upcoming battle of the bands will be its last event at Club 54 before the club closes its doors.

A battle of the bands is a contest where groups take the stage one after another and compete. The studio says ten bands from its Adult & Teen Rock Band Program will play over the day, and calls it one of its biggest events of the year.

The studio's show is its own farewell to the room, not the club's last night. Club 54 has been advertising its closing as coming soon, but it hasn't announced a final date.

The property hasn't been sold yet. Quondamatteo's announcement says he will be retiring later this year and will soon be selling the Club 54 property.
