The Milton Menace, the town's team in the Ontario Junior Hockey League, a junior A league, beat the Toronto Patriots 4-3 in a shootout Friday, Nov. 6, in front of 359 fans at Milton Memorial Arena.

Milton looked to have it won in regulation. Zhou scored at 11:50 of the first period, set up by Lynds and Deligeorgis, and Catalano added one at 18:26 from Bristol and Vreugdenhil. Deligeorgis then scored 51 seconds into the third, with Lynds and Zhou assisting, to put the Menace up 3-1.

Penalties let Toronto back in. Every Patriots goal came on the power play, when a penalty leaves the other team a skater short, and they went 3 for 6 with the extra man. O'Neill scored at 9:38 of the third and Nobili tied it at 13:03. Milton went 0 for 2 on its own chances.

Zhou and Lynds scored for Milton in the shootout, and Bazunov scored for Toronto. Milton went 2 for 5, Toronto 1 for 5.

The Menace outshot Toronto 55-32, but Patriots goalie Caracciolo stopped 51 of the 54 he faced. At the other end, McKillop made 29 saves on 32 shots and improved to 17-3-1-0.

It was a better result than the last time Milton went past regulation, a 4-3 overtime loss to the Mississauga Chargers on Oct. 17.

The Menace are back at Milton Memorial Arena on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. against the Blues, then visit King at the Zancor Centre in King City on Thursday, Nov. 12.
