Hailey Mitchell of the Milton Skating Club won the silver medal in Novice Ladies, Group 1 at Skate Ontario's junior and senior sectionals in Komoka, west of London, the club posted on Instagram. Skate Ontario, the provincial body that runs competitive figure skating, lists the category as Novice Women Group 1.
The competition runs Nov. 5 to 8 at the Komoka Wellness Centre in Middlesex Centre. Mitchell's group was scheduled to skate its short program Thursday, Nov. 5, and its free program the next evening, Friday, Nov. 6, on the Coors Rink.

The meet drew 290 entries across 26 categories. Skate Ontario says skaters earn a place at sectionals by reaching a qualifying minimum score at approved events during the season, and entries are capped in each category. Milton's four novice skaters, Mitchell, Alia Tang, Stella Zhang and Autumn Kanaan, were listed under an invitational for pre-novice and novice skaters.
The medal caps a big stretch for the club, which skates out of 605 Santa Maria Blvd. and is one of the largest Skate Canada clubs in the country, according to Skate Ontario. A week earlier, its pairs team of Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud won their first-ever gold medal at Skate Canada International 2026.
Competition in Komoka continues through Sunday, Nov. 8.
