Eidan Macartney scored twice and set up another goal Thursday, Nov. 5, as the Oakville Blades, the town's junior A hockey team, beat the Leamington Flyers 5-1 at Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre in Leamington.

The goals were his ninth and 10th of the season, and his night earned him Lokul's Player of the Game. He was also Lokul's pick in the Blades' 3-2 win at Aurora on Friday, Oct. 23, where he had two goals and an assist.

Le Conte opened the scoring at 9:04 of the first period, from Carvalho and Krula. Leamington tied it at 16:31 when Kociuk scored his fourth, set up by Brown and Ferenc. It was the only shot that got past Oakville all night.

Oakville took over in the second. Filippone put the Blades back in front at 7:17, with Macartney picking up an assist along with Lobe, and Macartney made it 3-1 on the power play at 16:40.

Chiella scored his 15th of the season on another power play at 11:19 of the third, and Macartney closed it out at 16:44.

In goal, Cruz-D'Annunzio stopped 27 of 28 shots, improving his record to 4-3-0-1.

The win came six days after a 1-0 loss to the Niagara Falls Canucks at Gale Centre, where Oakville outshot its hosts 42-23 and still couldn't score. It was the Blades' first win since Oct. 23 at Aurora.
