A new Montessori centre for babies through school-age kids is being built in Burlington, and families can already join its waitlist. Angus Valley Montessori Schools, known as AVM, said in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Oct. 28 that construction is under way.

AVM says the building is new and purpose-built. Montessori is a teaching approach built around hands-on, child-led learning. The company's centres take infants from 6 to 18 months, toddlers from 18 months to 3 years in what it calls pre-casa, children 3 to 6 in casa, its preschool classrooms, and kids 4 to 12 in before- and after-school care.

The company promises classrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and fully fenced, age-appropriate outdoor play areas.

Until it opens, AVM's nearest open centre is at Milton Mall, 55 Ontario St. S. in Milton.

The operator's Burlington page still says the location is coming in 2026, but no exact opening date was given in the update. AVM says it will share construction updates as it prepares to open, and families can join the waitlist through that page.
