Sonia Macaluso will represent Burlington families on Conseil scolaire Viamonde, the French-language public school board, after no one ran against her in the Monday, Oct. 26 municipal election. City Clerk Mike de Rond certified the official results on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Burlington's other French-language trustee seat went the same way. Diane Courchesne was the only candidate for Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir, the French Catholic board. Both serve four-year terms from Nov. 15, 2026, to Nov. 14, 2030.
