Nelson High School's Eco Club made seed balls with BurlingtonGreen, the school said in an Instagram post Wednesday. The school says the balls hold seeds of native plants that support pollinators. It invited readers to follow the environmental group to find ways to get involved and earn volunteer hours.

BurlingtonGreen's Youth Network, open to people aged 14 to 24 who care about the environment, offers high-school volunteer hours for activities such as habitat restoration, clean-ups and invasive plant removals, the group's website says.

To qualify for hours, attendees must fill out an attendance form and actively take part. The group is based at its Eco-Hub, 1094 Lakeshore Rd. at Burlington Beach, where it keeps a pollinator garden.
