The Burlington Hammers, a Special Olympics curling team, have been selected by Special Olympics Yukon to play at the Whitehorse McDonald's Curling Invitational, which begins Friday, Nov. 20. Special Olympics offers sports training and competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities. The City of Burlington, congratulating the team in an Instagram post, says the Hammers will be the only team from Ontario at the event.

Athletes, coaches and families are making the trip, and they're thrilled, according to the post.
