The numbered company that pulled its crematorium plan for 890 Harrington Court, a withdrawal the province posted in January, is back. It is seeking Ontario's permission to run two human cremation units at the Burlington site, and residents have until Monday, Dec. 21, to tell the province what they think.
The applicant, 1000792458 Ontario Ltd., is asking for an Environmental Compliance Approval covering air and noise. That is the provincial permit that sets the rules for what a facility may release into the air and how much noise it may make. Ontario's Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, which issues these permits, posted the proposal and opened a 45-day comment period on Friday, Nov. 6.
The ministry's notice lists the contaminants the proposed facility would release into the air, among them mercury and dioxins and furans, chemical by-products of burning.
The earlier application for the same site also described two human cremation units, exhausting through two stacks. That application, which covered a funeral home and crematorium, was withdrawn by the company, and the ministry posted the decision on Jan. 23, 2026.
The earlier proposal drew a single comment through the province's online registry and none by email or mail.
The company is based at 30 Bramwin Court in Brampton.
Comments go to the ministry through the Environmental Registry of Ontario, the province's online notice board for environmental decisions, and the period closes Monday, Dec. 21.
