Halton public schools, including Burlington's, brought in $21.4 million in 2025/2026, a Halton District School Board report shows. They spent $21.2 million.

The board says this money, which it calls school generated funds, mostly comes from recovering the cost of activities, field trips and excursions. It is usually about 2 per cent of everything the board takes in and spends.

Schools ended the year holding about $6.6 million to carry into this year, up 3 per cent from 2024/2025. Each can keep up to $30 per student without needing approval.

Trustees receive the report at a special board meeting on Thursday, Nov. 12.
