The plan to build 138 homes on what remains of the Millcroft golf course in Ward 6 has been appealed, according to the City of Burlington's development page for Millcroft Greens Phase 2.

The applicant, Millcroft Greens Corporation - 1000835226 Ontario Inc., wants to carve the remaining golf lands into six areas of buildable land and put up 73 single detached homes and 65 townhouses. The site takes in 2155 Country Club Dr., 4135 Millcroft Park Dr. and 4291 Couples Cres.

To do that, the company filed two applications. An Official Plan amendment would change the City's long-range land-use plan, which sets out where homes, parks and open space can go. A plan of subdivision would divide the land into lots and lay out how the new streets and homes fit together.

The City had scheduled the statutory public meeting, the hearing Ontario's planning law requires before council decides, along with a staff recommendation report, for Sept. 15, 2026.

In Ontario, planning appeals generally go to the Ontario Land Tribunal, a provincial body that holds hearings and can approve, change or reject a development plan.

The developer is also pursuing a second route. It has asked the Province for a Minister's Zoning Order, a tool that lets Ontario's housing minister zone land directly, bypassing the usual municipal approval process and the appeals that come with it.

For now, the City's page lists no public engagement scheduled on the file. Residents who want to follow it can check the Millcroft Greens Phase 2 page on the City's website.
