Nelson's senior football team is playing for first place on Friday, Oct. 30. The Lords visit the Hayden Huskies in the HSSAA regular-season finale, and both teams come in at 4-0, Nelson Lords Football says.
The senior game kicks off at 3:15 p.m. at Frank J. Hayden Secondary School. The Lords last played in Week 4, pulling away from Iroquois Ridge 42-6 with 300 yards on the ground. They then had a bye week and hoped to get injured starters back. Hayden shut out Aldershot 29-0 on Thursday, Oct. 22.
The junior teams open the afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Fresh off a 28-14 home win over St. Roch, the junior Lords want to avenge last year's Halton Championship loss to the Huskies and lock up first place in the HSSAA junior standings.
