Halton Region Public Health inspectors, who check the kitchens of restaurants, schools and child care centres, found two items out of line at Yoyo Sushi, 348 Guelph Street, during a routine inspection on Wednesday, Nov. 4. Both were put right during the visit. One was a critical item covering where the food comes from and keeping it protected from contamination. The other was a pest control item.

Critical items are the ones public health treats as most likely to make someone sick if left alone. The restaurant's earlier inspections listed by the region were a routine visit on July 7 and a re-inspection on July 14.

In the records Lokul collected, Halton Region Public Health inspected 10 Halton Hills food premises between Oct. 6 and Nov. 5, and nine had every item in compliance.

For parents, Saplings Early Learning Centre at 146 Mill Street East had a clean routine inspection Wednesday. The Compass cafeteria at Christ the King Secondary School, 161 Guelph Street, had one on Monday, Nov. 2.

McMaster Butchery & Cookhouse, a butcher shop at 352 Queen Street, had every item in compliance at a re-inspection Wednesday. It had a routine inspection on Oct. 30, and another in June.

Halton posts results on its real-time disclosure portal immediately after an inspection. Food safety inspections recorded before March 16, 2026, are on the older Dinewise site.
