Georgetown Raiders goalie Marandola faced 51 shots and stopped 48 of them, but the King Rebellion still won 4-2 at Mold Masters Sportsplex on Saturday, Oct. 31. The Ontario Junior Hockey League game, part of the province's junior A circuit, was lopsided: King outshot the Raiders 52-22. The loss leaves Marandola at 4-8-0-0.
Cabral gave Georgetown the lead 1:04 into the game, his seventh goal, set up by Sarabando and Yin. After King drew even, Grima put the visitors ahead 1:05 into the second period, and Hiscock answered at 4:27 with his fifth, from Macey and Bell. Pavese then scored short-handed at 15:25 of the second, and Chumakov added an empty-netter at 19:25 of the third.
The power play cost Georgetown: the Raiders went 0 for 7 and gave up Pavese's goal while a man up. King went 0 for 5. Rebellion goalie Wolfe made 20 saves and is now 6-0-0-1.
A week earlier, Georgetown outshot the Burlington Cougars 48-41 at home and still lost 7-4. The day after the King game, on Sunday, Nov. 1, the Raiders lost 7-1 to the Collingwood Blues at Eddie Bush Memorial Arena, with Marandola back in net for 34 saves on 41 shots.
