The Georgetown Raiders' losing streak reached three games on Sunday, Nov. 1, when the Collingwood Blues beat them 7-1 at Eddie Bush Memorial Arena in Collingwood.

The first period was scoreless. Then Collingwood broke it open with four goals in the second and three more in the third. Atom Thususka led the way with three goals and an assist.

Secours scored Georgetown's only goal at 16:41, his seventh of the season, set up by Meli and Scozzese. It was his first since a short-handed empty-netter late in the Raiders' 7-5 win in Toronto on Oct. 18. Collingwood goalie Edwards stopped the other 27 shots he faced and improved his record to 11-2-0-0.

Collingwood outshot Georgetown 41-28, and Raiders goalie Marandola (4-8-0-0) made 34 saves. It capped a heavy weekend for him: the night before, he stopped 48 of 51 shots in a 4-2 home loss to the King Rebellion.

Neither team scored with a man advantage in Collingwood, each going 0 for 3. Against King, Georgetown had gone 0 for 7, leaving the Raiders' power play 0 for 10 over the weekend.

The Blues have now handled Georgetown twice. Their previous meeting, on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Raiders' home rink, Mold Masters Sportsplex, ended 8-3 for Collingwood, which outshot Georgetown 43-24. Thususka scored in that one too, his 10th goal of the season.

The slide follows a strong mid-October road trip, when the Raiders won back-to-back games in Trenton and Toronto. Since then they have allowed 18 goals in three games.
