The elevator reached from the P2 stairwell in the parking garage at Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre, 325 Reynolds St., will stay out of service until Wednesday, Nov. 11, the Town says. Until then, visitors with limited mobility are encouraged to park on the first floor.
The Town's first notice, dated Tuesday, Nov. 3, said the elevator would be down only that day and Wednesday. In an update posted Friday, Nov. 6, it said an unexpected issue found during work on the garage's third level had affected the second-floor landing.
The North East Stairwell is also unavailable, so drivers who park on the second and third levels should use the East Stairwell to get in and out.
