Oakville families can spend tonight, Friday, Nov. 6, at Glen Abbey Community Centre, 1415 Third Line, where the Town's free Community Play Night runs from 4 to 9 p.m. The evening packs in basketball, skating, crafts, Zumba, yoga and a swim.
Families who want to skate or shoot hoops should come early, when Oakville Public Library also runs STEAM activities (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) at the Glen Abbey Library. The Oakville Youth Action Committee hosts the arts and crafts, and the night winds down with yoga and a swim in the centre's 25-metre leisure pool, kept at a warm 88°F.

Adult skaters heading elsewhere should note that the 18+ recreational skate at Trafalgar Park Community Centre is cancelled Friday, Nov. 6 because of a hockey tournament.
On Saturday, Nov. 7, the Town's Seniors Services, which runs programs for older adults, holds its Hidden Treasures Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Iroquois Ridge Community Centre, 1051 Glenashton Drive. Tables will carry gently loved and handmade books, jewellery, home décor, children's items, crafts and more.
The bazaar opens the return of the annual Seniors Services holiday sales, and the Town says proceeds help pay for its programs, services and activities for older adults. Two more sales follow this month.
