Bika Diakoloukas is set to represent Burlington Wards 1 and 2 on the Halton District School Board, and voters in those wards never got to weigh in. Diakoloukas was acclaimed: no one else ran, so no vote was held for the seat.
The trustee race was part of Burlington's municipal election on Monday, Oct. 26. Results for the seat were posted by the City of Burlington and are still unofficial.
Trustees sit on the board that runs Halton's public schools. The current trustees were elected in October 2022 and serve until November 2026.
Next, the City Clerk declares the official election results, which the City says happens as soon as possible after voting day.
