Buy a chimney cake at Budapest Bakeshop, 447 Brant Street, between Sunday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 7, and $2 from it will go to Joseph Brant Hospital, Joseph Brant Hospital & Foundation announced on Instagram. The money will support what the hospital's fundraising foundation calls urgent priorities at the hospital.
A chimney cake is a Hungarian pastry: sweet dough wrapped around a cylinder and baked into a hollow, crisp tube. The downtown shop makes them both sweet and savoury. The seasonal menu includes an Apple Skor cake filled with cinnamon apple and topped with Skor toffee crunch, and the chain bills itself as the home of the world's first savoury chimney sandwich.

The Burlington shop is run by Scott and Kim, who the bakery says grew up in the city. Before coming home, they spent five years running Sunset Grill a few doors down from Budapest Bakeshop in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The hospital donation applies to the Brant Street location.
The bakery is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.
