First Pact Academy, a private childcare centre planned for 3416 Fairview St., is asking Burlington parents of infants, toddlers and preschoolers to pre-register now. It is still under construction and has not set an opening date.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Oct. 28, First Pact invited families to be part of its first group, which it calls Pre-Founding Families. Its registration form covers infants (0 to 18 months), toddlers (18 to 30 months) and preschoolers (30 months to 6 years). Planned hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The centre is private and isn't part of Ontario's reduced-fee child care program, known as CWELCC; it says it hasn't been allocated any of the program's spaces and isn't currently taking part.

Its program is described as child-centred and inspired by the Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches, both of which build learning around children's own hands-on exploration. The operator says there will be more than 3,000 square feet of fenced outdoor space, with protective bollards installed around the playground to separate it from vehicle areas.

Signing up is not a confirmed spot or start date: enrolment timing depends on opening milestones and readiness, and tours will begin once the space is ready and safe for visitors. Families can pre-register through the link on the centre's Instagram profile.
