Carpenter Hospice says it received a $10,000 donation from money raised at Centro NOCA's La Dolce Vita Taormina Garden Party, an event its two hosts have now put on for the Burlington hospice two years running.
The hospice announced the gift in an Instagram post, crediting Jason Pepetone, founder of Centro NOCA and Centro Garden, and Adam Doering, a senior wealth advisor at CIBC, with hosting the fundraiser for the second consecutive year.

The money matters because the hospice, at 2250 Parkway Drive, offers its programs and services to the community free of charge. It says fundraisers like this one provide essential financial support for that care.
Board chair Mike Cook and Krista Kay, the hospice's director of fund development and community engagement and impact, were pictured with Doering and Pepetone. The hospice thanked the many individuals, local businesses and community members who backed the party.
Residents who want to hold their own event can start with the hospice's Community Fundraising Starter Guide, which includes planning tips and a third-party agreement. Organizers must review, sign and return that agreement before raising money or advertising; once it's approved, the hospice sends written permission to use its name, cause and logos.
Questions go to the hospice's fund development specialist at 905-631-9994, ext. 134, or [email protected], the address listed on the hospice's website.
