Burlington's Corpus Christi Longhorns lost their last senior football game of the regular season by a single point, falling 14–13 to the St. Francis Xavier Knights of Milton on Friday, Oct. 30, the team posted on Instagram. It was their only loss of the regular season, which they finish at 6–1.
The 12:30 p.m. game on the Longhorns' home field, at the school on Upper Middle Road, was Corpus Christi's "pink" game for Breast Cancer Awareness. The school says students turned out in pink for cancer awareness that day and cheered on both its football and basketball teams.

It was the seniors' second close finish in a row. The week before, on Friday, Oct. 23, they edged Bishop Reding 22–20 on the road at Bishop Reding CSS.
Two days before the senior game, on Wednesday, Oct. 28, Corpus Christi's junior boys also lost to St. Francis Xavier, 13–7, at home, according to results from the Halton Catholic Athletic Association, which runs sports among the region's Catholic high schools.
The Longhorns now turn to the playoffs. The team said it's time to regroup and refocus, since the regular season is behind them and everyone starts 0–0.
