Ethan Tatomir scored three goals Friday night as the Burlington Cougars, the city's junior hockey team, beat the Toronto Warriors 8-5, the team posted on Instagram. The team named Tatomir, who wears No. 2, its player of the game.
It was Burlington's second hat trick in four days. On Tuesday, Nolan Keeler scored three times, all on the power play, in a 5-2 win over the Pickering Panthers at Central Arena, and he too was named player of the game.

Tatomir is new to the team. The Cougars brought him in early this month, and he scored his first goal for Burlington against the Toronto Patriots at Central Arena. He also set up two goals in a 7-4 win in Georgetown on Oct. 24.
Before that Georgetown game, the Cougars had the league's second-highest-scoring offence, with 85 goals, or 4.7 a game.
| Game | Opponent | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Season opener, Central Arena | Georgetown Raiders | L 7-4 |
| Oct. 24, in Georgetown | Georgetown Raiders | W 7-4 |
| Tuesday, Oct. 27, Central Arena | Pickering Panthers | W 5-2 |
| Friday, Oct. 30 | Toronto Warriors | W 8-5 |
The team named No. 9 Mikael Tissier its worker of the game for his penalty-killing. On Tuesday, Tissier set up a shorthanded goal by Andrew Bowness.
Next up is a rematch at home. The Cougars host the Georgetown Raiders on Friday, Nov. 6, at Central Arena, 519 Drury Ln. Georgetown beat Burlington 7-4 on that ice in the season opener; the Cougars won by the same score in Georgetown last week.
