Trustees are the elected voices for families on a school board. They approve the board's budget and policies, hire and oversee the director of education, and carry parents' and students' concerns to the board table. The Halton District School Board has 11 trustees, each elected for a four-year term through the municipal election.
Thurman hasn't taken her seat yet. The current board of trustees was elected in October 2022 and serves until November 2026.
