Earl's Restaurant on Maple Avenue was not cooking, cooling and storing food at proper temperatures when Halton Region Public Health inspected it on Monday, Oct. 26, a problem the health unit lists as a critical item.

The visit to the restaurant at 900 Maple Ave. was a routine inspection. The inspector set a follow-up on the temperature problem by Wednesday, Oct. 28.

A second, less serious item was also not in compliance: keeping equipment and utensils properly cleaned, sanitized and maintained. It is listed as non-critical and has a follow-up by the same date.

The other critical item on the inspection passed. Food at Earl's came from approved sources and was adequately protected from contamination, the results show.

It is not the first time this year inspectors have had to come back to Earl's. After a routine inspection on July 7, they returned for re-inspections on July 15 and again on July 17.
