Burlington's Festival of Lights is scheduled to return to Spencer Smith Park on Friday, Nov. 27, and opening night centres on a brand-new 35-foot tree, set to be lit for the first time that evening.

From there, the display stays up in the park through the holidays, running until Sunday, Jan. 3, in the new year.

Opening night, billed by organizers as the official tree and park lighting, runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the park, 1400 Lakeshore Rd., according to the festival's event listing, with the tree expected to light up at about 7:20 p.m.
