Burlington's Frank Hayden Secondary School junior boys football team is out of the playoffs after a 49-7 loss to Georgetown D.H.S. in a semifinal at Georgetown on Friday, Nov. 6. The Halton Secondary School Athletic Association, which runs high school sports in the region, posted the result.
Georgetown will meet Burlington's Nelson High School in the final. Nelson won the other junior semifinal 43-0 over Iroquois Ridge H.S. at home on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Nelson heads into the final in strong form. In the regular season on Friday, Oct. 30, it beat Hayden 54-14 at Hayden.
Hayden's senior boys also lost their semifinal a day earlier, 26-16 to Abbey Park H.S. at home on Thursday.
