Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Burlington families can start the day for free: Burlington Public Library is holding a Halloween Party & Parade at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, at six branches: Central, New Appleby, Alton, Brant Hills, Aldershot and Tansley Woods.

At 11 a.m., Woodview Plaza hosts a free Trunk or Treat fundraiser supporting Capillary Wave. Burlington Centre holds its Halloween Spooktacular at the same hour.

Joseph Brant Museum's Tricks for Treats starts at 10 a.m., with a scavenger hunt through the museum, a kids' craft station and a Spooky Snapshot Station run by Henry's Camera. Unlike the library parades, it isn't free: regular museum admission applies.

In the afternoon, The Princess Cottage hosts Frozen Sisters and Rumi's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at 2 p.m. Downtown, Burlington Downtown's free Spooky Bingo digital passport, which sends players through participating businesses, wraps up on Halloween.

The night before, Friday, Oct. 30, Legends of Motown plays the Burlington Performing Arts Centre's Main Theatre at 7:30 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., St Christopher's Anglican Church stages a Halloween Drag Show and The Block Co. hosts Devil's Night With the ReefKings.

For grown-up singles, Nickel Brook Brewing is the venue for a 15FirstDates Halloween Singles Party at 9 p.m. Saturday, a ticketed 19+ event.

The weekend closes with 360 ALLSTARS at The Burlington Performing Arts Centre at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1.
