Health inspectors found that Creek Way Village - Village of Halton, a long-term care home at 5200 Corporate Drive, was out of compliance on a critical item: cooking, cooling and storing food at proper temperatures.

Halton Region Public Health, which inspects restaurants, care homes and other places that serve food, posted the inspection results after a routine visit on Wednesday, Nov. 4. An inspector will be back by Nov. 18 to check the temperature problem has been fixed.

The home also fell short on keeping equipment and utensils clean, sanitized and maintained, a non-critical item with a follow-up due by Nov. 6. It passed the other critical item: food came from approved sources and was protected from contamination.

Its last listed inspection was a routine one on June 11. By Lokul's count of the inspection records it has collected, 61 of 75 Burlington food premises inspected between Oct. 5 and Nov. 4 had every item in compliance.

Patrons can ask the home for its Summary Inspection Report, which every food premises must provide on request under Halton's mandatory Dinewise program.
