Drivers on the QEW through Burlington ran into three collisions at Walkers Line in three days, two of them on the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 3, just 12 minutes apart and on opposite sides of the highway, according to Lokul's incident log, compiled from police, fire and 511 Ontario reports.

The second of Tuesday's crashes happened in the Toronto-bound HOV lane, the carpool lane reserved for vehicles carrying more than one person. 511 Ontario, the province's road information service, logged it starting at 3:19 PM, with all lanes closed. The listing doesn't make clear whether that meant only the HOV lanes or the whole Toronto-bound highway.

Twelve minutes earlier, at 3:07 PM, a collision listed in the Fort Erie-bound HOV lane, heading toward Hamilton and Niagara, had closed the right lane. 511 Ontario also posted a Fort Erie-bound collision at Walkers Line closing the left lane from 2:42 PM that day; it isn't clear whether that was a separate crash. The first crash in the run came on Sunday, Nov. 1, when a Fort Erie-bound collision closed the left lane starting at 2:35 PM.

Disabled vehicles also closed the right lane and right shoulder on the Fort Erie-bound ramp at Walkers Line, including one starting at 2:19 AM on Wednesday, Nov. 4.

Walkers Line wasn't the only Burlington interchange hit. One exit east at Appleby Line, collisions in the Fort Erie-bound HOV lane closed all lanes from 12:07 PM on Saturday, Oct. 31, and again from 2:50 PM on Sunday, 15 minutes after the Walkers Line crash that day. On Tuesday, Oct. 27, Fort Erie-bound QEW/Highway 403 lanes were fully closed at Guelph Line after a multi-vehicle collision involving a dump truck, which the Ontario Provincial Police, who patrol provincial highways, were investigating.

The listings don't give injuries, causes or when the lanes reopened. Drivers heading onto the QEW can check 511 Ontario for current closures before they leave.
