Tim O'Brien will represent Burlington's Wards 4 and 5 on the Halton Catholic District School Board, according to results posted by the City of Burlington, which has since posted official results for the race. He took 72.17% of the vote in the municipal election on Monday, Oct. 26.
The board runs Halton's publicly funded Catholic elementary and secondary schools. Its trustees, elected by Catholic school supporters, set board policy, approve the budget and act as the local voice for families in their area. O'Brien takes on that role for Wards 4 and 5 for the coming term.
O'Brien finished 1,669 votes ahead of runner-up Katrina Vinka Kvenich, while Bashar Haddaden was a distant third.
