Daryl Drover hosted a Haunted Halloween Food Drive on Russel Street, and it brought in 900 lbs of food for the Georgetown Bread Basket, a Georgetown food bank, the charity said in an Instagram post. "A whopping 900lbs of food was generously donated to help fill our shelves!" the post says.

That is about six times the 145 lbs collected by actors at the Georgetown Little Theatre in Stewarttown, who ran their own Halloween drive for the food bank.

Others have been chipping in too. Indiana from the Lululemon store at Toronto Premium Outlets donated 60 lbs, and local mortgage agent Kat Brazier ran her third annual Thanksgiving drive for the Bread Basket this fall, which she called her biggest yet.

Residents who want to run their own drive can find a "Host a Food Drive" option on the Bread Basket's website. The food bank is at 49B Mountainview Road North in Georgetown. It also partners with Links2Care on Coldest Night of the Year, the winter fundraising walk, which returns Saturday, Feb. 27, 2027.
