Burlington Cougars forward Ty Daniels has been named the West Conference Player of the Month for October by the Ontario Junior Hockey League, the junior A league the Cougars play in.

Daniels, a winger from Grimsby, made a quick impact with the Cougars, scoring a power-play goal in his second game with the team.

The league's announcement credits him with eight goals and six assists over five games from Oct. 11 to 24. The Cougars, in an Instagram post, put his October totals at 12 goals, 17 assists and 29 points in 12 games.

The highlights included a goal and an assist in a 5–2 win over the Wellington Dukes at the league's Governors' Showcase in Niagara Falls, and the overtime winner against the Oakville Blades at Central Arena, his second goal of that game, which gave Burlington its fourth straight win.

Daniels has already drawn interest from a level up. The Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League, the province's top junior level, drafted him in the seventh round, 135th overall, in 2024, when the club was based in Mississauga. He signed a development agreement with the team, now in Brampton, in 2025.

The league's other October honours went to Tyler Bruce of the Pickering Panthers in the East Conference and Leamington Flyers goalie Colten Drillen-Roach, named Goaltender of the Month for the second straight month.

The Cougars face the Caledon Admirals on Sunday, with puck drop at 2:30 p.m. at Mayfield Recreation Centre.
