Halton Region Public Health inspectors who went back to Creek Way Village, the long-term care home at 5200 Corporate Drive, on Friday, Nov. 6, again found a critical food-safety item out of compliance. It was the same item they had flagged two days earlier: foods being cooked, cooled and stored at proper temperatures. Another follow-up is due by Wednesday, Nov. 18.
Inspectors sort what they check into critical and non-critical items. Critical items are the ones most closely tied to keeping food safe to eat, and temperature matters because food left too warm, or not cooked or cooled properly, gives bacteria a chance to grow.
The temperature and food storage problem turned up at a routine inspection on Wednesday, Nov. 4, along with a non-critical item on how equipment and utensils are cleaned, sanitized and maintained. By Friday's re-inspection, the equipment item was in compliance. The home's other critical item, food coming from approved sources and protected from contamination, was in compliance at the Nov. 4 visit.
Before this month, the only earlier inspection Halton lists for the home this year was a routine one on June 11, 2026.
